Anchor Chain Small Necklace 16"
Our stud link anchor chain is literally handmade, link by link, with each link containing a center bar (stud). This fact easily distinguishes it from look-alike jewelry, which has the center bar only in every other link, permitting manufacture by machine.
The clasp we use is called a brummel hook-which provides a very sturdy and reliable clasp for this particular design. When the brummel hooks face exactly 90 degrees to eachother, the hooks attach together (as shown in picture). My father's first experience with brummel hooks (circa 1955), setting the stage for later using them as jewelry clasps, was racing Wianno Seniors on Cape Cod. They were the fitting choice for attaching the halyard, sheet and clews. Their reliability for not unexpectedly disengaging or otherwise snagging on rigging made them a lesson in simplicity.
