Great Blue Heron Pin/Pendant

With well over 200 hand-carved feathers in different planes, this bird throws light like faceted stones. Maine's Great Blue Herons nest along the coast, and near beaver ponds or lakes. Their huge nests are usually found in the tops of the tallest trees. Carving the model for this jewelry required many hours spent in a canoe observing the bird's shape in all forms of flight.
